Car Shade and Industrial Applications

Purpose

  • Provides shade and temperature control.
  • Provides protection from birds
  • Provides hail protection
  • Stops material from being blown around by wind

Features

  • These canopies can be designed to suit a wide range of heights and interior pole spacings.
  • Fabrics are carefully chosen to match shade requirements and loads such as wind, snow, ice and hail.
  • A range of coloured fabrics are available to allow the canopies to match corporate colours.

Usual Size Range

  • Structures are designed to suit area, loads and access requirements.
  • Canopies over 60ft (20m) in height may require special provisions for erection.
  • Longer spans between poles are achieved with suspension systems. Maximum span between poles depends on loads and economics.

These illustrations show systems optimized for hail protection. The same arrangements are used for shade and for shade/hail protection. Click here for more information on these systems.

Below is a dedicated shade system for cars that has also provided hail protection.

How much sun
do you get?

A number of service organizations measure levels of Ultra Violet.

The images below are from the webpages of the EPA and of the Climate Prediction Center.

Here is a typical map of US UV ratings the picture is a link to get an up-to the minute one.

Shade systems can be created for any situation- large or small.
As our systems are completely custom designed, you can choose exactly the level of protection and the area to be protected that you need.
For example, if you would like wind protection and hail protection as well as shade, we will create a system to suit. Retraction options are available, or the system can be sized to resist snow loads.
In choosing a system, consider these possible requirements:

- Decorative colours or the (more economical) black or clear for minimal light disruption?

- What level of temperature control, UV blockage and shade?

- Protection from which of – wind, hail, snow, rain, dust, people (visual or security)?

- Area covered – complete coverage for which range of sun angles?

- Structure – where can supports be placed that will be out of the way?

- Strength – what loads do you want it designed for – hurricane strength structures are an option if needed.

Call WeatherSolve for a discussion on your situation.

Note: WeatherSolve specializes in shade structures from approx 3000 sq ft up to multi-acre structures. For smaller structures we recommend using one or two prefabricated shade panels with a reinforced eyelet in each corner that are available from a number of on-line suppliers.

A range of recreational shade fabrics are shown below.
